Greetings,
My name is Victor Rios and I am currently employed full time as a screen printer in Windham. I enjoy screenprinting but I am pursuing a career in media and communication.
I also work as a freelance graphic, web, and custom apparel designer; as well as a promoter for local events; and I am the creator and owner of a clothing line that benefits breast cancer awareness called Exposed. Exposed sales come from events I attend and/or sponsor, online and at RaveX in the Maine Mall.
In order to accomplish all of the above, I created a business called Expose Design, LLC in 2008. The business was originally intended for the sole purpose of distinguishing my professionalism and credibility in order to associate and work with nonprofit charitable organizations. But it also spawned other opportunities as my network expanded; leading to my services requested by individuals, businesses, and organizations for graphic, web and custom apparel designs; as well as a promotional assistance.
Art and Creativity has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn't my first career choice. In 2007 I left my promising Hotel career in order to further improve my education and pursue my passion with art and creativity within Communication and Media. It was a very hard decision, but one that I will never regret.
In May of 2009 I graduated with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science - Communication and New Media (High Honors) from Southern Maine Community College. While I attended SMCC I was a Dean’s List student, one of two recipients of the Maine Association of Broadcasters scholarship and I graduated as a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
In May 2011 I graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor's Degree in Media Studies and finished as Dean’s List student.
Furthering my education created amazing opportunities and expanded my abilities in communication and creating media; and I believe my artistic abilities, experience, work ethic, professionalism and outgoing personality give me an edge in the field.
At this time I am looking to work full time for a media or marketing company in the Portland area. This would give me an opportunity to utilize my creative talents, contribute to a team of professional individuals with the same interests, and be immersed in a career I am passionate about.
I would also like to take a moment to stress the importance that my work as a freelance designer and with Exposed will not hinder, interfere, or conflict with any full time work I commit to.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions and references are available upon request.
Sincerely,
